Our competitive company pension scheme will help you to save up a pot of money for your future, so you can enjoy your retirement. Our pension scheme provider is Royal London and can be managed online via a newly launched online app. If you are aged between 22 and state pension age, work or usually work in the UK, and earn more than £10,000 each year, you will be automatically enrolled. If you don’t meet these criteria, you may still be able to join.

The pension option for Ireland based employees is the PRSA (Personal Retirement Savings Account) scheme through Zurich.

From your first day with us, you’ll have the reassurance of knowing your family will receive a lump sum (two times salary) if the unthinkable happens. 

You’ll receive a competitive holiday allowance determined by your job role. If you need extra time off, you can also buy up to 5 additional days’ holiday, spreading the cost over a 12 month period.

Salary Finance offer personal loans at affordable rates and deductions are taken directly from your monthly salary, should your application be successful.  The acceptance rates are higher than banks and there is even a price promise for loan applications under £5,000. If you find a better rate – Salary Finance will match it.  There is also a savings option available, where you can build up your savings through an online savings account with Yorkshire Building Society. The typical annual gross interest rate (Annual Equivalent Rate) is 0.75%.

For a flat fee of up to £1.49 per withdrawal, Salary Finance provide you with access to money you’ve already earned and simply deduct it from your pay on payday.

How does it work?

You can make up to 3 withdrawals per month for a flat fee of up to £1.49 (per withdrawal). Salary Finance deduct the withdrawals and fees from your pay on payday.

You can build up your savings with Salary Finance Save, an online savings account with Yorkshire Building Society that transfers money directly from your salary to your savings account. The typical annual gross interest rate (Annual Equivalent Rate) is 0.75%.

As an HSS Hire colleague, you can book a FREE 30 minute session with a Hatch Financial Coach. The sessions are held over the phone, and you can discuss any aspect of money management. If you would like ongoing support after the free session, through HSS you can spread the cost over 12 months AND pay Hatch's annual fee (usually £249) from your pre-tax salary. This brings the annual cost down to £12 - £14 per month depending on your tax band - a saving of £80 - £105.

Maternity
We offer enhanced maternity pay for the first 12 weeks of maternity leave to support new mums, and reduce any financial burden.

Paternity
We offer enhanced pay during the first week of paternity leave, to reduce any financial burden and allow new dads valuable time with their new arrival.

IVF
Our IVF policy looks to support colleagues as much as possible as they go through consultations and treatment. We offer flexibility with time off to attend appointments, with colleagues entitled to up to three days paid leave. We also offer paid time off for colleague’s whose partners are going through treatment, and would like to attend appointments with them.

Everyone wants to make their salary or pay go further each month - and with this benefit you can also make it help, too. It gives you the opportunity to turn small change into ‘big changes’ by donating a small monthly amount to a worthwhile charity. The provider is Pennies from Heaven. Please note that you are automatically opted into the scheme, upon commencement of employment.

At HSS, our colleagues have chosen to support – Cancer Research UK. We’re delighted to have won the Pennies from Heaven Gold award in 2019 due the high percentage of our colleagues who donate through their pay each month.

The health of our colleagues is very important to us. So, we provide all of our colleagues with a company funded health cash plan that covers everyday health costs. This plan offers many benefits including:

When it comes to commuting you can join our government backed Cycle to Work scheme provided by Cycle Solutions. This is a salary sacrifice scheme, so you can save money and get fit at the same time. The scheme is available to join all year round. You can choose a bike and additional equipment worth any amount from £100 up to £1000 in whole pound amounts. You could save between 32% and 42% on the retail price of the bike and equipment. The Cycle to Work scheme for colleagues based in Ireland is provided by Cyclecscheme.

You can obtain up to 40% discount on theme park entry and cinema tickets by purchasing a Tastecard and you can also use it at a number of restaurants (2-4-1 discount) across the UK. The Tastecard will cost you a one-off payment of £29.99.

Catering for a party or planning a special event can be expensive, so we have given all colleagues the option to purchase a Costco membership. Costco have specific rules about who they accept for membership, but they have agreed to accept HSS Hire colleagues as members. The annual cost is £33.60 inc VAT which includes a complimentary spouse/domestic partner card. One additional card can be purchased at a cost of £16.80 inc VAT to an individual aged over 18 residing at the same address. If this is something that is of interest to you, you can join at the Membership Desk in any of Costco’s UK warehouses.

This provides exclusive access to 4,000 discounts, deals and cashback offers for you and your family.
